Psychologists apply their knowledge to a wide range of areas and most often specialize in Clinical and Counseling, Industrial-Organizational or Experimental Research Psychology.

The most common practice, Clinical and Counseling Psychologists spend their time in private settings, clinics or hospitals and determine and treat mental illnesses and problems that may occur in everyday life such as career or personal stress. Industrial-Organizational Psychologists apply psychological methods to improve corporate work life and productivity. Experimental Research Psychologists work in universities or nonprofit organizations and study the behaviors of both human begins, animals and rats to determine the effects of substance abuse, memory, and human reactions.

Testimonials

My dream is to be a psychology research expert and get my work published. I am now age 18 and I have already got my work published!
- Sandy
I love the idea of helping people with psychological issues. CE put me in an environment where I was able to learn from clinicians and actually connect with and help individuals with autism and Alzheimer’s disease. It was amazing! Plus, my mentor, the clinician pointed out that I have a gift working with patients. That made my summer
- Pam
I knew that psychology was fascinating before CE because of a psych course I took, but working full time in psychology confirmed that this is what I want to do with my life
- Jeff
I worked in the psychiatric clinic of a hospital and I acquired two major skills: 1) The ability to work with people that have huge difficulties with life 2) I learned the virtue of appreciation for the life I have and what my parents have given me
- Andrea
